Heart failure – Symptoms
Heart Failure symptoms
There are three key indicators that are suggestive of heart failure
1) Feeling breathless whether that is at rest or after an activity
2) Feeling fatigued or tired for the majority of the day and feeling exhausted after exercising
3) The ankles and legs are prone to swelling.
Other heart failure patients report other symptoms that include a fast heart rate, dizziness, and a persistent cough. Because these symptoms are shared by other illnesses it is important to see your doctor as soon as possible so that if there is an illness it can be diagnosed as soon as possible so that treatments and management can begin.
The speed of developing heart failure symptoms can be rapid (acute heart failure) or relatively slow where symptoms develop over a period of weeks or months, which is referred to as chronic heart failure.
