Seeking help and advice

It is important that you visit your doctor or GP if you have any concerns about your health.

Should you notice any symptoms associated with type 2 diabetes or you think that you have a higher risk of developing the disease you should contact your GP.

The GP or a local health centre are able to carry out a quick blood test that can help confirm whether or not you have the disease.

As I had mentioned earlier there is a large body of people in the UK that are diabetic but don’t know it. Also, if diabetes is detected early then treatments can also be started earlier therefore reducing the risk of serious health problems that are associated with advanced type 2 diabetes.
