Causes of Dementia 

What causes dementia?

It is important to appreciate that dementia is not a single disease. Instead it is a term that the symptoms of person experience their function starts to decline.

There are several different diseases that fall under the umbrella of dementia. Research has shown that the onset and development of these diseases coincide with abnormally increased levels of certain proteins in the brain. These proteins factor functioning of nerve cells brain that eventually lead to cell death. The symptoms its process present themselves as loss of brain function, for example forgetfulness.
